The MOWA system
How MOWA works
How MOWA works
With MOWA (for Modular Walking) we have developed a new, intelligent and modular orthosis system.
Novelty
Innovative, because MOWA is an orthosis system with machine learning integration. But also innovative because our orthosis can be adapted exactly to the individual loss of function of the patient. In addition, it takes into account the patient's physical growth and changing motor and muscular abilities. We achieve this with the latest technologies and individually clearly defined modules. Since the orthosis not only fits like a glove, but is also ultra-light, it is a pleasure to wear.
Intelligent
Intelligent, because here sensors, machine learning, cloud and 3D printing go hand in hand. Measuring the patient is essential for a perfect orthosis. As a care provider, you analyze your patient's movements with the Gait Analysis Tool and record the affected body part with a 3D scanner. The data is uploaded to the cloud-based MOWA platform, where it is visualized and dimensioned with the 3D shape software. Automation and standardization guarantee error-free measurement results. Algorithms calculate the so-called MOWA Score from the data and gait parameters and derive the configuration recommendation from this. The orthosis and its components are then displayed and can be modified if necessary.
Modular
Modular, as carbon components are combined with individual 3D-printed elements. All components are available in various designs and degrees of hardness, can be combined and can be simulated in advance by the therapy team and user. Thanks to the exchangeable modules, the orthosis can also be easily and cost-optimized to the length and width growth of children or to the respective activity level of the patient.
MOWA helps neuro-orthopedic patients who suffer from paralysis and spasms for various reasons. The orthosis is suitable for children, young people and adults. By promoting and rehabilitating the natural movement pattern, it increases their quality of life. MOWA is considerably more flexible and above all more patient-friendly than conventional orthoses.
Interdisciplinary cooperation
By registering on the MOWA platform, patients and technicians can create a profile. The data is then stored centrally here. MOWA technicians, therapists and doctors can work together in a network via the digital infrastructure for successful therapy.
